    Client: Psychiatric Institute of Washington

     

    Position: Inpatient Therapist

     

    Openings: 1

     

    Duration: permanent - 20%

     

    PR: $69,000 - $103,000k

     

    Shift: M-F 9 am - 5 pm (flexibility on start time)

    Interview Process:

    • 1st round: 30 minute Zoom interview with the Director of Clinical Services

    • 2nd round: On-Site interview: conversational and tour of facility

     

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Insight Global is seeking an experienced Inpatient Therapist to support the Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW), a 130-bed, short-term, acute care hospital providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. PIW offers inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs, including specialized treatment for chemical dependency. This candidate will play a critical role in supporting patients through their most vulnerable moments.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Facilitating individual and group therapy to individuals with trauma, affective mood disorders, co-occurring or substance use complications.

    • Groups are held Monday through Friday.

    • The group therapist will facilitate group therapy topics that are able to generalize to each member’s needs.

    • Responsible for providing direct patient care to adult’s ages 18-+ that is congruent with the philosophy and standards of practice defined by the Department of Clinical Care Management.

    • Conducting the intake and psychosocial assessments, case management activities, group and individual therapy, crisis intervention and participating as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.

    Skills and Requirements

    Requirements:

    • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline from an accredited graduate school.

    • Graduate Clinical Licensure in District of Columbia required (LGPC/LPC/LGSW).

    • Minimum one to two years’ experience in delivery of direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting; some portion of which must have included treatment of substance use and Trauma conditions.

    • Other examples of relevant experience: acute care facilities, ACT team, IOP programs, crisis facilities, stabilization centers.

    • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of hospital systems, including intake/admission procedures, experience working with third party payers preferred, but not required.

    • Experience in outpatient, inpatient and partial hospital work preferred.

    Other Notes:

    • Team: reports directly into the Director of Social Work.

    • 12 other inpatient therapists.

    • 10 inpatient units --> roughly 15-25 patients per unit.

    • D2D: leading group therapy sessions, conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, safety planning, communicating with providers, and providing crisis intervention.
