Responsibilities You will perform minor construction and repair on existing structures involving standard measurements, specifications, instructions, and basic shop mathematics. You will locate and make repairs to plumbing and disposal systems, such as dirty traps, sections pipe, and leaky drains. You will prepare surfaces, mix and prepare coating material, and apply coating materials. You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to do the work of the position without normal supervision performing common tasks including carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties in the installation, modification, and repair of buildings, structures, and other construction projects. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. This position requires to possess the skills necessary to operate an elevating work platform (scissor lift) and aerial work platform (JLG, etc.) Certification is provided by the Command. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
