Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural** **hospital located** **in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
+ A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
+ Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
+ Assumes responsibility for the management of clinical and supportive activities and allocation of human resources of the unit on a designated shift.
+ Coaches and supports the team in accomplishing the unit and hospital mission.
+ Ensures that care is delivered by those who are competent/trained to do so according to the patient population, level of technology required, complexity of care needs, and the age of the patient.
+ Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for post-operative and acute care patients requiring hospitalization.
+ Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
+ Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
+ Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
Requirements:
+ 3 years RN experience in hospital acute care
+ Previous experience as a Charge RN or Team Leader preferred
+ IA RN license or compact state
+ BLS, ACLS, PEARS or PALS and NCI - inhouse certification available upon hire
+ Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
Schedule:
+ 72 hours a pay period.
+ Primarily 7a-7p; evenings 11a-11p or 3p-11p
+ Holiday and every 3rd weekend rotation
+ The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
