TheSchool of Humanities and Sciences (H&S)is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. H&S is home to fundamental and applied research, where free, open, and critical inquiry is pursued across disciplines. As the university’s largest school, H&S serves as the foundation of a Stanford undergraduate education no matter which discipline students pursue as a major. The H&S Human Resources Department is seeking a Human Resources Administrator to join the H&S HR Service Center. The Service Center was created to centralize the processing of HR transactions through a central team that supports departments and programs in the school. Under the direction of the H&S Human Resources Department, this position will provide administrative support and work as a part of a team of three. This position provides first point of contact for all human resources inquiries and serves as a resource to staff and faculty on human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
Primary responsibilities include human resources data entry into PeopleSoft including faculty, academic staff, non-academic staff, bargaining unit, student, and temporary employees. Additional key responsibilities include initiating and monitoring background checks, employment verification (I-9), applicant tracking system management including posting new requisitions and requisition close-out, and personnel file management. This position will also support disability, leaves and workers compensation claims.

It is critical that this position exhibit the abilities to practice sound judgment and decision-making, effective written & oral communication, strong attention to detail and respectful relationship management. This position must also exhibit a strong desire to continuously learn new and unfamiliar business topics, policies and procedures as they relate to human resources – the ability to translate this information into operational successes will be critical.
This is a 100% FTE, continuing, non-exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.

CORE DUTIES:
+ Compensation and benefits: Process basic and complex compensation and benefits-related transactions, ensuring adherence to university policies and guidelines. May assist managers with basic to complex compensation and benefits questions, escalating to senior HR team members as needed.
+ Disability and Leaves / Worker's Comp: Answer routine questions and explain applicable disability/leave (DLS) and workers' compensation (WC) procedures to employees and managers. Generate related correspondences. Coordinate with DLS and/or WC specialists when appropriate.
+ HRIS/People Analytics: Support data entry and record retention. Regularly report on HR metrics utilizing the HCM system for purposes of compliance and audit. May create customized reports as requested.
+ Talent Acquisition: Support the candidate experience including job postings, screening candidates, interview scheduling, collecting rater feedback, disposition of candidates, etc. Assist in coordinating the onboarding and exit processes for staff. Liaise with central university offices as needed.
+ Transactions: Support high volume HR transactions using standard operating procedures and university guidelines for multiple types of HR transactions, including hiring, personnel changes, reclassifications and related activities.
+ Maintain personnel and human resources-related files.
+ Participate and foster an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree and 2 years of relevant human resources experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
+ Strong accuracy and attention to detail
+ Strong proficiency with business applications, Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, etc.
+ Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
+ A customer focused approach to human resources support.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
+ Proficiency with GoogleDrive and SmartSheet or similar workflow/project management tools
+ Proficiency with HRMS platforms and data analysis/reporting software
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Travel on campus to schools/units, out of town.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, and use a telephone.
+ Occasionally write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, sort/file paperwork.
+ Rarely kneel/crawl, operate foot and/or hand controls.
The expected pay range for this position is $31.49 to $40.00per hour.
