• Facilities Technician

    Andromeda Advantage Inc (Long Island City, NY)


    Andromeda Advantage Inc is hiring a Facilities Technician to keep our Long Island City campus clean, safe, and fully operational. You will own day to day maintenance for classrooms, offices, and workshop areas, making sure every space is ready for learning and work.

     

    What you will do

     

    + Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, doors, and basic electrical systems

    + Troubleshoot issues quickly and coordinate vendors when specialized work is needed

    + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe campus including classrooms, restrooms, and common areas

    + Track inventory of parts, supplies, and tools and restock proactively

    + Set up and break down rooms for events or training as needed

    + Keep clear maintenance logs and communicate updates to the Facilities Manager

    + Support seasonal projects like painting, minor carpentry, and site improvements

    + Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE as required

    + Campus spaces stay clean, functional, and ready for daily use

    + Supplies and tools are organized and stocked before shortages hit

    + Staff and tenants experience you as helpful, responsive, and professional

    Qualifications

    + Experience in facilities, building maintenance, or similar hands on work

    + Comfortable with basic HVAC, plumbing, and general repairs

    + Able to read and follow maintenance instructions and safety procedures

    + Driver license required

    + Able to lift up to 25 pounds and use ladders safely

    + OSHA 30 required or willingness to obtain within 60 days

     

    Nice to have

     

    + Bilingual Spanish a plus

    + Certificate of Fitness/Fireguard G-60/F-60 9
