Position Summary:
Reports to the center director. Directly supervises the health and wellness manager, educational services and group life managers, facility maintenance supervisor, food services supervisor, safety & security supervisor, student personnel officer, systems technician, and senior secretary. Responsible for the overall management of the Maui site in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions:
+ Plan, coordinate and direct the administrative and programmatic activities of the site.
+ Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement staff changes as approved by the center director and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation.
+ Develop and monitor site budget, control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
+ Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting the Maui site; coordinate with Maui and Waimanalo staff to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
+ Review and audit all assigned areas regularly contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports. Ensure the site has an effective self-assessment system.
+ Maintain site properly; keep site clean and orderly; inspect facilities frequently and maintain quality and cleanliness.
+ Develop and implement procedures, systems and curricula for the Maui site.
+ Ensure program is conducted to support overall facility objectives and provides appropriate experience for students.
+ Coordinate with site personnel to ensure efficient site functioning and contract compliance.
+ Establish site plans, programs, goals and objectives to ensure achievement through management controls.
+ Maintain communication with student body and conduct individual and group meetings.
+ Establish and maintain close contact with government, community, civic and news media officials to promote acceptance and involvement in the program; maintain community relations program.
+ Provide control of site reports, policies, procedures, torts and other claims, staff travel, disclosure of information, emergency use of personnel, equipment and facilities.
+ Ensure proper and timely submission of all necessary documentation and information to the main site.
+ Maintain effective communications with the center director ensuring that all important and necessary information is communicated on a timely basis.
+ Maintain accountability of all site personnel ensuring timely action, follow-up and documentation of personnel actions. Ensure personnel policies are followed and performance expectations are met.
+ Coordinate enrollment and transfers with main site.
+ Develop and maintain site student handbook and CDSS plan.
+ Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
+ Participate in student employability programs and activities.
+ Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
+ Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
+ Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices.
+ It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree and five years related experience required, four of which must be in a managerial capacity.
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
