    Position Summary

    The Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University invites applications for a part-time, 30% appointment, instructor position to teach one section of FW449/891-Wildlife Policy, for Spring 2026.

     

    This is a 5-month, fixed term Instructor with a 100% teaching assignment. The position start date is anticipated to be January 1, 2026; the position end date is anticipated to be May 31, 2026.

     

    The FW449/891-Wildlife Policy course typically has an anticipated enrollment of approximately 40 students, comprised of upper-level undergraduate students (mostly) and graduate students. FW449 is a curricular option for the 4 undergraduate majors offered by the FW Department. FW891 will require an additional project to be assigned, and completed by students. The course will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays 10:20 AM - 11:40 PM.

     

    The Department will pay $13,000 for the semester for teaching this class ($2,600 per month for Jan. - May).

    + An earned Master’s degree in related field

    Desired Qualifications

    + An earned Ph.D. degree in related field

    + The successful candidate would ideally have training and professional experience in wildlife management, conservation and policy

    + The successful candidate should be passionate about undergraduate teaching

    Special Instructions
