Quality Systems Document Control Specialist
The Quality Systems Document Control Specialist is based on-site at our Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Newtown, PA site will be responsible for administration and management of the AS9100 certified quality system processes. Under the direction of the Sr. Quality Manager, the Quality Systems Document Control Specialist is responsible for managing the elements of the Quality Systems including but not limited to: Document Control, Change Controls, Quality Events, Deviations, Corrective and Preventative actions, and Internal audit planning. This individual works closely with cross-functional teams at the site and abroad. This individual will routinely report on quality system and business process performance; proactively identifying, providing guidance and implementing process and system improvements to resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
This position will also assist with general Quality Systems functions such as product certification, document control, internal auditing, specification review, and others on an as-needed basis.

YOUR CHALLENGE
50% Quality Systems
+ Supports the site various quality system certifications AS9100, ANSI/ESD, FAA etc.
+ Creates, maintains internal/external audit schedules
+ Performs or leads audit teams, preparing audit plans, reporting findings, and driving continuous improvement within the organization.
+ Analyze audit results, identify non-conformances, and work with department heads to develop effective corrective action plans.
+ Provides training and guidance to the organization on quality management system requirements and best practices.
+ Stays current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality management and auditing.
+ Supports the Quality Systems Manager in maintaining the integrity of the QMS and promoting a culture of continuous improvements
+ Drives the RCCA process through the organization, including implementation/improvement to tools, training, and metrics.
+ Manages the assigned Program Customer Quality process, ensuring quick response and effective corrective actions on customer raised SCARS, audit findings and feedback obtained through the Customer Service Index (CSI) process.
+ Interacts as needed with Program Managers, Supply Chain, Operations, Contracts and other Engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with Quality requirements and supports RCCA’s to resolve Customer and Product Line nonconformances as required.
+ Coordinates corrective actions to address nonconformances identified during internal/customer audits.
40%: Document Control
+ Administers and maintains the Master Control electronic Document Management System, ensuring documentation integrity, accessibility, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Oversees the creation, review, approval, and distribution of controlled documents, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and quality manuals.
+ Performs overall document control of engineering design submittals and process reviews.
+ Ensures timely updates to documentation in response to regulatory changes, internal audits, or process improvements
+ Identifies and implements improvements to documentation systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and compliance in Master Control.
+ Communicates with document originators and engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies as needed and compile required changes to documents.
+ Assists with periodic reviews that include reviewing documentation practices and systems to ensure continued compliance and effectiveness.
10% Other Supporting responsibilities
+ Performs root cause analysis (8D,5 Whys) of identified manufacturing issues and identify appropriate corrective and preventive action.
+ Provides quality support on the implementation of Engineering Change Orders, Program Instructions, Waivers and Material Substitution Requests
+ Supports quality in the product life cycle (Proposal, Design, Production, Services and Sustainment.
+ Performs COPQ Data Extraction / Analysis /Compilation and improvements
+ Support Root Cause and Corrective Actions for customer found issues
+ Ad-Hoc Travel may be required from time to time to support the business.
WHAT YOU BRING
+ Bachelor’s degree or technical equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience or Graduate degree with a minimum of 3 years of prior related experience.
+ In lieu of a degree, candidates may be considered with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience within the aerospace and defense, medical, or other regulated industry including transferrable military experience commensurate in with the position responsibilities, skills and experience required.
+ Experience with the implementation and maintenance of a registered AS9100 QMS applied to both manufacturing and product development
+ Experience in quality, quality processes, and maintaining documentation systems, specifically in the defense industry, is preferred.
+ Knowledge and understanding of government, military, defense and/or medical device quality standards.
+ Experience in manufacturing environment.
+ Proficiency with Master Control, Agile, SAP considered an advantage
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
+ Must be accurate and have excellent attention to detail.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees, other department managers and senior management.
+ Strong computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.) and ERP systems
+ Strong decision-making skills and results -driven to work under deadlines.
+ High degree of Product Integrity and Ethical standards
