Summary
We are seeking a Power Engineer with a PE license in Texas, responsible for the design, development, and oversight of electrical power systems, ensuring they meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards. This role will engage with the site teams, contractors and the local utility on engineering plans, construction and site operation. This role requires a highly talented customer facing engineer to develop site proposals that meet the requirements of our Data Center customers.
Detailed Description
+ Design and Development: Lead the design and development of electrical power systems and components, including one-line diagrams, schematics, load lists, grounding plans, and lighting systems.
+ Analysis and Studies: Conduct comprehensive power system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies using industry software like ETAP, SKM, or ASPEN Oneliner.
+ Compliance and Safety: Ensure all designs, installations, and operations strictly adhere to relevant national, state, and local codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NESC, IEEE, NERC, ERCOT, local Texas building codes)..
+ Project Management: Oversee projects from the conceptual stage through construction and implementation, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
+ Collaboration and Guidance: Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including manufacturing engineers, architects, civil engineers, contractors, and clients. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other technical personnel involved in the projects..
+ Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, specifications, and project updates for management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
+ Field Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support during the construction and installation phases, perform site inspections, and troubleshoot complex electrical issues as they arise.
+ Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies, such as renewable energy integration and smart grids, to drive continuous improvement and sustainable power solutions.
Skills/Experience
Project Management
+ Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions
+ Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to achieve program objectives.
+ Create a project/change management plans to ensure that the project are delivered within the assigned time and budget
+ Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans
Leadership

+ Mentor and lead peer engineering teams to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
+ Act as a subject-matter expert, guiding teams in adopting best practices in electronics manufacturing

+ Serve as the primary technical interface for internal and external customers, addressing concerns and presenting solutions.
+ Conduct technical reviews, process demonstrations, and progress presentations tailored to customer requirements.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and ongoing business success.
Technical Skills
+ Licensure: An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas is mandatory for this role.
+ Proficiency in electrical design and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, PSS/E).
+ Strong knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
+ Expertise in applying electrical codes and standards (NEC, NERC, etc.).
Physical Demands
+ Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
+ Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
+ Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
+ Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
+ A minimum of four 10 years of progressive, verifiable engineering work experience beyond licensure requirements, specifically in power systems design or analysis.
Typical Education
+ A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required
+ Master's degree is a plus
