    Description:

    Lactation Specialist: ONSITE in UNITS

    **Position Summary** :

     

    The Lactation Specialist is accountable to the Newborn Services Manager and works collaboratively with other SPHP staff who provide services to childbearing women.

     

    **Education Requirements** :

     

    Associates Degree required in a Health related field; Bachelors degree in a Health related field preferred. CLC (certified lactation counselor certification) **OR** certified breastfeeding counselor (CBC) certification is required. International Board of Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) is expected to be obtained within two years of employment by full time lactation specialists.

     

    **Experience Requirements** : Two or more years of experience in clinical or community service setting, one of which must have been in the area of maternal-child care. Previous lactation counseling/consulting experience highly desirable.

     

    Pay ranges: $30.00 to $45.03 per hour. Pay is adjusted based on education and experience.
