Summary
The Program Specialist is essential for developing, coordinating, and implementing culturally and linguistically tailored outreach and educational activities, including managing instructors, logistics, and administrative support. The role also involves developing protocols for program implementation to support Community Health Workers (CHWs) and serving as faculty for their training. A key part of the position involves Communication and Data Management. The specialist maintains regular communication with internal and external partners and works with the marketing team to promote upcoming programs, including creating educational materials and flyers. You will also develop and coordinate protocols for using social media groups like WhatsApp for outreach. Furthermore, the specialist collects and manages program data (attendance, surveys) , assists with community assessment , supports with grants and reports, and ensures all activities comply with organizational policies and federal/state regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Three to five (3 - 5) years previous experience working with grant funded programs or research, or non-profit program management.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that serve diverse communities.
Experience working with Community Health Workers or in community-based health programs.
Excellent written and oral skills in English
Strong knowledge on the principles of data, evaluation, and project management
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently manage multiple projects.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in a community setting
Competency with data collection and analytics tools, excellent computer skills (word processing, internet research, presentation and reports )
Written and spoken proficiency in at least one other language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Arabic or Hindi) preferred.
Ability to travel to surrounding communities for program activities.
