    Job Title: Lab Technician

    Job Description

    Under limited supervision, conduct in-process and finished product testing to ensure adherence to established specifications of quality and purity.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research purposes.

    + Test and analyze products such as flour to determine if they meet plant specifications prior to release.

    + Release vessels that meet specifications and report those that do not.

    + Test and analyze production samples and report any uncharacteristic results.

    + Document test results and readings in logbooks and in the Total Lab Client (TLC) system.

    + Complete certificates of analysis.

    + Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab.

    + Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation.

    + Adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA, and company standards and guidelines.

    + Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + 2 or 4-year science degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

    + 2+ years of work experience in a quality assurance lab preferred.

    + Open to entry-level candidates with a Bachelor's Degree or Associate's in Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific field.

    + Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

    Work Environment

    This position involves working a 10 PM to 6 AM shift in a small, tight-knit team of 5-10 lab technicians. There is a great team culture with opportunities for permanent placement and pay advancement. Although shifts are set, there is flexibility in swapping or picking up hours if needed. The role requires adherence to safety and quality standards.

    This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
