Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician at our Irving location. This role involves working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist within a licensed pharmacy. You will perform technical, non-judgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control. Our pharmacy is committed to delivering high-quality, high-touch care, helping cancer patients achieve more breakthroughs and victories in their fight against cancer.
Responsibilities
+ Show initiative and take an enthusiastic, proactive approach to work.
+ Exhibit a sense of urgency and superb multi-tasking skills.
+ Check all orders for completeness of information.
+ Read and interpret prescriptions accurately.
+ Verify patient information and proper physician authorization.
+ Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
+ Assist pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications and provision of pharmaceutical care.
+ Enter and process new prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system, where permitted by pharmacy regulation, and only at the direction of the supervising pharmacist.
+ Maintain a neat and clean workstation.
+ Accurately process all orders in a timely manner.
+ Assist in maintaining the accuracy of software templates.
+ Support phone calls and lift up to 40 pounds if needed in fulfillment.
+ Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
Essential Skills
+ 1-3 years of pharmacy experience.
+ Data entry skills with a minimum typing speed of 35 wpm.
+ Texas pharmacy state license required; Kentucky license needed after onboarding.
+ Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school graduate or equivalent.
+ Experience in data intake pharmacy.
+ Ability to demonstrate professionalism and prior authorization skills.
+ Experience in retail pharmacy is a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with potential weekend and overtime shifts based on business needs. The job demands a full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination, and the ability to read and note appropriate measurements. The work environment is supportive of long-term career growth, with a focus on teamwork and professionalism.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
