Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for on-site machine commissioning, repairs, maintenance, group training, and process refinement. This role requires providing technical service support via phone calls from customers and service representatives. Additionally, the technician will run-out and test machines prior to shipping to customers and perform service calls at customer sites to address possible problems involving company products. Technical support to other service representatives and customers is also a key component of this role.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct mechanical duties including alignment, leveling, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical issues on machines.

+ Perform electrical duties such as diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of relay control systems.

+ Complete work in a safe, professional, and timely manner while adhering to Lockout Tagout Programs.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

+ Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

+ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

+ Self-starter with the initiative to own your schedule and deliver timely customer service.

+ Strong customer service and communication skills.

+ Ability to lift up to specified weight (rare heavy lifts with help).

+ High school diploma or equivalent; two-year technical degree or related work experience.

+ Willingness to travel up to 30-40% including rare trips to Mexico or Canada.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a small-team culture where everyone contributes, from unloading trucks to shop clean-up. The position requires proactive planning for travel and delivering timely customer service.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Golden Valley, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
