Job Title: Mechanical Project ManagerJob Description

As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling process. You will review and approve project budgets and negotiate subcontractor contracts. Your role will involve managing project finances, ensuring overall profitability, and resolving design conflicts. You will lead strategic planning and oversee the project submittal, request for information, and change order processes.

Responsibilities

+ Manage the pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling process.

+ Review and approve project budgets to determine resource allocation.

+ Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors.

+ Manage project finances, including profitability and cash flow.

+ Ensure overall profitability of the job and focus on cost management.

+ Collaborate with engineers and architects to resolve design conflicts.

+ Lead strategic planning and oversee project submittal processes.

+ Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.

+ Research and suggest options on construction means, methods, and timelines.

+ Recognize and implement change orders as necessary.

+ Approve payment supplier and subcontractor invoices.

+ Ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

+ Identify and manage CAD, fabrication, and field labor resources.

+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Essential Skills

+ 5-10 years of experience working on mechanical projects.

+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.

+ Construction management and project management skills.

+ Experience with project scheduling and mechanical construction.

+ Proficiency in HVAC systems and mechanical design.

+ Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

+ Proficiency in software such as Primavera P6, Procore, and Bluebeam.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with AutoBid and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

+ Strong communication skills and proactive approach.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

+ Experience in healthcare, data centers, and advanced manufacturing projects.

Work Environment

The role requires on-site work in a job trailer with a team, typically Monday through Friday, 10-hour days, with some weekend work based on project demands. During project downtime, expectations include building relationships and engaging in business development activities. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conyers, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $72.00/hr.
