Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant to support a Specialty Physician in providing exceptional patient care. This role involves checking patients in and out, recording vitals, logging information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen), verifying insurance, and covering the front desk during the receptionist's lunch breaks. The ideal candidate will be cross-trained across all departments.

Responsibilities

+ Assist Specialty Physician in back office tasks.

+ Check in and check out patients, record vitals.

+ Log patient information into NexGen EMR/EHR system.

+ Verify insurance information.

+ Cover front desk duties during receptionist's lunch breaks.

+ Be cross-trained on all departments within the Family Practice.

Essential Skills

+ 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

+ Proficiency in appointment scheduling and electronic health records.

+ Experience in patient care and back office operations.

+ Familiarity with NexGen EMR system.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ BLS Certification (AHA).

+ Bilingual in Spanish.

+ Phlebotomy skills are a plus.

+ Open to externs or candidates with at least 6 months of experience.

+ Must pass a basic knowledge test after the interview.

Work Environment

This position is based in a Primary Care Clinic located in West Covina, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend shifts. The work environment is part of a large physician-led network committed to quality healthcare and offers holiday pay after 30 days of employment. Each of the 8 providers in the clinic sees 15-20 patients per day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Covina, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
