Ophthalmic Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting physician visits in the EMR system, assisting with instruments as requested by the physician, performing work-ups after doctor visits with patients, and effectively communicating procedures and treatments to patients.

Responsibilities

+ Document physician visits in the EMR system.

+ Assist with instruments when requested by the physician.

+ Conduct work-ups after doctor visits with patients.

+ Communicate effectively with patients about procedures and treatments.

Essential Skills

+ Medical assisting

+ Medical terminology

+ Patient care

+ Experience with EMR systems, particularly NextGen

+ Ophthalmology knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Certified Medical Assistant

+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a life science

+ Experience handling 30+ patients per day

+ Ophthalmic experience preferred

+ Bilingual capabilities are a plus

+ Strong multitasking abilities

+ High volume patient care experience

+ Driven, 'Type A' personality

+ High energy and enthusiasm

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
