    Job Title: Lab Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform all in-house testing and enter results into our ERP system or communicate them to the designated individual. This role involves monitoring raw material and packaging component receipts, preparing samples for external testing, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the lab and its equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform all in-house testing and enter results in the ERP system or send them to the designated person.

    + Monitor raw material and packaging component receipts, perform required tests, and release in the ERP system.

    + Prepare samples for external lab testing and prepare necessary reagents.

    + Ensure lab and equipment are clean and well-maintained.

    + Perform calibration and periodic checks of lab equipment.

    + Monitor lab supply inventory and initiate ordering of supplies.

    + Review test results, notebooks, and lab worksheets in a timely manner.

    + Update various spreadsheets and databases to track test results and monitor quality.

    + Communicate effectively with production and other lab personnel about in-process quality results.

    + Conduct regular lab inspections.

    + Draft, review, and revise SOPs and worksheets.

    + Assist in training lab and production personnel on lab procedures.

    + Communicate with outside labs, customers, and suppliers.

    + Execute additional responsibilities and projects as required.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + A four-year science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related fields.

    + Candidates with a two-year science degree and industry lab experience in HPLC and wet chemistry are also considered.

    + Preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.

    + Experience with SOP and documentation.

    + Strong Excel skills.

    + Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with others.

    Work Environment

    The lab technician will work in a manufacturing facility, primarily within a plant setting. The role requires wearing safety glasses and potentially steel-toed shoes or boots due to warehouse visits. The work environment follows GMP standards, prohibiting contacts, jewelry above the waist, and nail polish. The lab team consists of nine members rotating between three different labs located at different sites.

    This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
