Job Title: Director of Quality
Job Description
As a Director of Quality, you will lead a team of up to 50 professionals, including engineers, technicians, inspectors, and administrative staff. Your role will involve hiring and training staff, developing and enforcing quality systems to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements, and managing quality-related metrics. You will communicate with customers regarding quality compliance and collaborate with purchasing to enhance vendor performance. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage the budget, and advocate for improvements.
Responsibilities
+ Direct and manage a team of up to 50 professionals.
+ Hire and provide training to staff.
+ Develop and enforce quality systems for compliance with standards and customer requirements.
+ Monitor and communicate quality-related metrics to senior staff.
+ Communicate with customers regarding quality compliance, complaints, and audits.
+ Collaborate with purchasing to monitor and improve vendor performance.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
+ Manage the budget effectively.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical or management-related field.
+ Minimum of 10 years experience in a direct QA role with progressive supervisory and managerial roles.
+ Experience with FAA regulatory rules and certification processes.
+ Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action investigation.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Extensive knowledge of, or ability to learn, production processes.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Quality certifications such as CQE or CQA.
+ Experience with First Article Inspection Reports per AS 9102.
+ Material Review Board experience.
+ Knowledge of AS9100 standards.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with developers, project managers, and customer support.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.00 - $85.00/hr.
