Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

The Warehouse Worker plays a vital role in managing and maintaining the flow of materials and equipment. This includes receiving and unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and recording entries using warehouse software systems. The role involves driving a forklift to store and move materials and requires a keen eye for detail to ensure materials are correctly sorted and placed according to predetermined sequences. The Warehouse Worker is also responsible for preparing items for shipment or distribution and maintaining an organized and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

+ Receive material and equipment, unload trucks, and check in merchandise by matching purchase orders to vendor packing lists.

+ Drive a forklift to store and unload materials as needed.

+ Record entry of materials or distribution of material/equipment through the warehouse software system.

+ Read work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

+ Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.

+ Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code.

+ Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.

+ Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.

+ Open boxes, crates, and other containers.

+ Assist with counting of physical inventory.

+ Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

+ Sweep, dust, mop, and organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.

+ Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in basic computer skills.

+ Familiarity with manufacturing or warehouse software preferred.

+ Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

+ Effective customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ashburn, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
