Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a full-time, tenured, or tenure-eligible Associate Professor of Educational Leadership (PK-12 Education) beginning August 10, 2026 (position #3045). The position will primarily serve the Master of School Administration and the EdD program in Educational Leadership, which leads to North Carolina principal and superintendent licensure. Graduate-level coursework may be delivered in various formats, including face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and occasionally fully online. Teaching responsibilities may include classes related to school leadership, operations, policy, curriculum and supervision, and law.
Hiring is subject to budget availability.
Responsibilities. Teach courses in the Department of Educational Leadership primarily in the field of PK-12 school improvement, accountability, and equity; demonstrate scholarly productivity in research; support the scholarly work of students (serve on and chair dissertations); seek external funds to support research activities; provide service to the field and profession; and participate in program, department, college, and university service.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Required qualifications include (1) an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership/Administration or a closely related field from an accredited university, (2) a demonstrated commitment to PK-12 school and district leadership through professional experience, scholarship, and service, (3) a demonstrated track record of active research in areas associated with educational leadership, and (4) experience teaching graduate-level courses.
Preferred qualifications include: (1) leadership and/or teaching experience in a PK-12 school and/or district setting, (2) evidence of grants or grant applications in the field of education or educational leadership, and (3) familiarity with the use of online instructional technologies.
