Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and oversight of the Lead Pharmacist - manages and coordinates operational, quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and administrative programs within the Department of Pharmacy. Manages and oversees medication distribution technology and processes. Leads department wide and interdepartmental projects related to operations, quality, patient care and patient experience. Supervises Pharmacy Technicians in activities related to medicationdistribution and ongoing projects. Oversees departmental financial performance and systems, coordinates and participates in Joint Commission and regulatory agency readiness. Works directly with managers and directors of other departments in matters related to areas of responsibility. Incumbent proceeds at his/her own discretion in areas of responsibility, within the limits established by the Director of Pharmacy and the Hospital rules in making routine decisions on matters having direct bearing on areas of responsibility. Attends meetings as representative of Pharmacy Department in addition to or in absence of Director of Pharmacy. Supervises Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in the operation of the Pharmacy in the absence of Lead Pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
+ Bachelor's Degree - Science or Technology related degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
+ Twenty-four (24) months experience in healthcare related setting-Pharmacy preferred
+ Knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
+ Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
+ Proficient in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data, and working both independently and as part of a team to solve problems, make and implement recommendations.
+ Ability to supervise department personnel
+ Ability to lead and implement projects
+ Proficient with computers, software applications, and report generation.
+ Ability to assume leadership for patient safety, quality and savings opportunities.
+ Ability to establish working relationships with both professional and support personnel.
+ Ability to prioritize work assignments and work independently to manage multiple ongoing projects.
+ Acute awareness of confidentiality requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS
+ Considerable standing, walking, and occasional lifting
+ Works unusual hours as required to complete assignmentsand projects and in preparation for meetings, surveys etc.
+ Travels to various clinic locations or other Catholic Health hospitals as required for meetings, educational programs, etc.
