Description

We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will oversee a variety of financial tasks, including preparing statements, analyzing data, and reconciling accounts. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards while contributing to the organization’s financial accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports to reflect the company’s performance.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure all transactions are properly documented.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

• Monitor profit and loss statements and assist in evaluating the financial health of the organization.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and other regulatory requirements.

• Assist in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax filings.

• Utilize accounting software, such as Great Plains, to streamline financial processes and reporting.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Great Plains (GPAC), and strong familiarity with budgeting and forecasting.

• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and corporate tax procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries with accuracy.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure precision in financial data.

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues across departments.

• Experience in the retail or grocery sector is a plus but not mandatory.
