Description
PCSI is looking for an Electrician at its Detroit Arsenal Site. We seek a motivated and friendly team member to provide electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services for the facility’s electrical system. The right person will be proactive and take pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Lead Electrician at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI.
Shift: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday
This position is a union position that starts at $51.02, with annual increases, full benefits, paid federal holidays, and health & welfare.

What You'll Do as an Electrician:
Primary Job Functions:
+ Must have experience in installation, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and devices located within the facilities.
+ Installs, inspects, adjusts, tests, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, and outlet boxes, and a wide variety of electrical fixtures.
+ Electrical equipment that will require maintenance and repair includes electrical switch boxes, lighting circuits, branch and transfer circuits, HVAC fans and switches, fire alarm systems, rheostats, and related shop equipment.
+ Will be required to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit, inserts, splicing, and connecting wire to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power sources.
+ The electrician will be responsible for all assigned preventive maintenance work orders assigned by the PM Manager.
+ Assists in the accomplishment of minor building maintenance tasks, which must be performed to proficiency.
+ On-call for after-hours emergency calls.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college, trade, or technical school preferred.
+ Minimum four (4) years of recent/relevant experience as a journeyman electrician with a working knowledge of all national and local electrical codes.
+ Master Electrician preferred.
+ Able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Must possess analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
+ Ability to read, interpret, and develop statistical reports, drawings, and calculations.
+ Ability to compromise and execute specific tasks on short notice.
+ Must be able to walk, bend, climb, and safely navigate construction sites.
+ Experiences with various tools and equipment.
+ Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and ensure deliverables are satisfied.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects at once with minimal supervision.
+ Must have familiarity with government regulations, environmental, safety, and security standards.
Other Requirements:
+ Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, & motor vehicle report
+ Maintain security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation.
+ Maintain a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and remain insurable to operate Company vehicles.
+ Ability to problem solve, efficiently communicate with others, and have a strong work ethic.
+ Fire and alarm systems knowledge is a plus.
Working Condition
+ Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
+ Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
