    Contracts Assistant (Systems & Data) – Immediate Opening

     

    Simon & Schuster is seeking a Contracts Assistant to collaborate closely with the Contract Systems & Data Coordinator and Director, serving as a central operational hub for the Contracts Department. This role involves daily entry and upkeep of contract data in our systems, as well as regular interaction with various departments across the company. The individual in this position will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient workflow of the Contracts Department.

    Core Responsibilities:

    + Enter new acquisition contracts into our databases, consulting with the Contracts Coordinator for complex cases.

    + Manage changes to existing contracts, including collecting and processing necessary paperwork.

    + Provide support to expedite processes and enhance departmental efficiency.

    + Use Excel and our company databases to track and log contract details.

    + Clarify contract terms to other departments upon request.

    + Assist with contract-related research projects and other ad-hoc tasks as required.

    Qualifications:

    + Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

    + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and management.

    + Technically adept, with proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with contract management systems preferred.

    + Excellent organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.

    + Self-motivated and able to excel in a collaborative environment.

    + Adaptable and open-minded towards evolving job responsibilities.

    + Positive attitude and proactive problem-solving approach.

    The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
