    Position Overview:

    The Restorative Practice Coordinator (RPC) will coordinate and facilitate the establishment and implementation of Restorative Practices, to be utilized within the day treatment and residential programs at St. Catherine’s Center for Children. The RPC will function as a leader as well as trainer, educating and consulting with staff surrounding trauma informed practices, and coaching staff during and post crisis in a manner that aligns with Restorative Justice.

    Position Requirements:

    + A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

    + Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university social work program (M.S.W.) or a Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

    + Ability to relate to a wide range of people. This includes but not limited to a broad range of people who are culturally and socio-economically diverse, as well as people with various developmental and functional levels.

    + Demonstrated effective leadership qualities and confident supervisory skills.

    + Must be able to respond effectively and therapeutically in crisis situations.

    + Must possess excellent communication skills and solid writing aptitude.

    + Ability to work non-traditional hours.

    + Strong organization and planning skills.

    + Ability to work using a variety of software tools, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Google Suite, and the Internet.

    + A Clean and valid NYS Driver’s License, with ability to meet criteria as outlined in the Revised Policy for Agency Drivers.

    Organizational Relationships:

    + The Restorative Practices Coordinator (RPC) is directly responsible to, and supervised by, the Clinical Supervisor of Day Treatment and Restorative Practices.

    + The RPC has an interdependent relationship with the School Administration team, as well as the Residential Management Team to coordinate and implement the Restorative Practices framework across programs with consistency and fidelity.

    + Meets with supervisor to review progress toward professional goals, as well as the design and implementation of trauma informed systems and processes across programs.

    Duties & Responsibilities include:

    + Organize and facilitate meetings associated within the Restorative Practice framework:

    + Restorative Practices “Champions” Focus Team

    + Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Committee

    + Restorative Practices Circles:

    + Community Circles

    + Restorative Circles

    + Restorative Assessments / Conversations

    + Level 2 Circle Meetings

    + Re-Entry Meetings

    + Serve as the primary point person for all Restorative Practices training, to include preparing staff for how to interact with children in a trauma sensitive way, as well as in a way that fosters a sense of respect and responsibility within the child’s community.

    + Maintain consistent communication with all teachers to ensure the use of universal Tier 1 supports and that the appropriate steps are being taken to track behavioral data.

    + Be responsible for the integration of Restorative Justice concepts, language and practices into day to day functioning and situations.

    + Model for direct care staff how to appropriately respond to students, colleagues, parents, and other members of the community during states of emotional intensity.

    + Will attend meetings to provide a restorative lens and make behavioral strategy and intervention suggestions (i.e. Treatment Plan Meetings, Incident Deconstructions, etc.)

    + Will work collaboratively to ensure that Restorative Practices Model is being implemented with fidelity and consistency across programs for continuity of care.

    + In conjunction with the Residential Management Team, as well as the School Administration Team, will consult regarding the development and maintenance of therapeutic living and learning environments.

    + Will attend and participate in Administrative / Management meetings as requested, or on an as needed basis.

    + Partner with the School Culture and Environmental Skill Building Coordinator to integrate Restorative Practice language and concepts into the Social Emotional Learning curriculum to maximize the quality of the content emphasizing a trauma informed and community centered program.

    + As a member of the treatment team, provides clinical support to the team by being available for real time coaching and support of restorative practice philosophy in an effort to move students towards treatment goals and ultimately permanency.

    + Be responsible for periodic review of all Individual Crisis Support Plans to ensure Restorative Justice (RJ) and Trauma Informed language is utilized.

    + Will complete and submit necessary documentation to support the implementation of Restorative Practice, as well as record any incident, progress, regression, etc.

    + Participate in all agency required training, as well as maintain certification of training if applicable.

    + Attend and complete the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Train the Trainer program and work collaboratively with the agency’s training department to educate incoming and retained employees in agency approved crisis intervention techniques.

    + Additional position related duties and responsibilities assigned by the Clinical Supervisor of Day Treatment and Restorative Practices.
