    Job Description: Staff Accountant

     

    Objective: Train, learn, and perform a variety of general office accounting and administrative tasks to support daily business operations.

    Cashier & Payment Processing

    + Reconcile all cash, checks, and credit payments collected from multiple departments.

    + Prepare and process bank deposits.

    + Receive and record payments, including charge card transactions.

    + Maintain accurate records of finalized cash receipts, check stubs, and bank confirmations.

    + Process daily credit card deposits and reconcile monthly credit card schedules.

    + Verify and manage petty cash disbursements.

    Accounts Payable

    + Review purchase orders and secure proper authorization.

    + Prepare checks and process vendor invoices with correct account coding.

    + Enter invoices into the system and research outstanding items.

    + Post vendor invoices to the general ledger.

    + Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate schedules for accounts payable and service contracts.

    Accounts Receivable

    + Contact past-due accounts and update payment status in the system.

    + Provide management with updated AR reports and payment notes.

    + Prepare monthly accounts receivable statements and related reports.

    + Respond to AR inquiries and ensure timely follow-up.

    + Update customer account information and process adjustments for chargebacks, returns, and bad checks.

    Inventory & Transaction Accounting

    + Post retail and wholesale transactions to the general ledger.

    + Maintain commission spreadsheets for biweekly payroll.

    + Record inventory purchases and manage related entries.

    + Process daily and monthly financing payoffs and reconciliations.

    + Prepare schedules for inventory and related accounts.

    Other Accounting Duties

    + Post incentive and rebate statements.

    + Assist with additional reporting and administrative tasks as needed.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
