Omnicell is seeking an experienced and hands-on Manager of Software Engineering to lead our development team in creating innovative healthcare technology solutions. This role will be responsible for overseeing both new and legacy systems, ensuring that our software development efforts meet the evolving needs of healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry to drive our software initiatives forward. They will also be a team player that collaborates effectively across the organizations to ensure high quality solutions delivery.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
+ Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define and implement software solutions that meet the needs of healthcare providers
+ Contribute to, and accountable for the full software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to deployment and maintenance
+ Actively participate in hands-on development tasks, including coding, debugging, and troubleshooting both new applications and legacy systems.Identify and lead the team through complex and ambiguous problems
+ Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and documentation
+ Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to deliver high-quality software on schedule
+ Understand business urgency and can find appropriate and timely solutions.Use independent judgement to accomplish objectives.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in healthcare IT
Required Knowledge & Skills
+ Proven track record of managing/guiding software development teams and projects
+ Strong technical skills in the following areas:
+ C# programming language
+ .NET framework and .NET Core
+ Experience scaling and deploying applications in the public cloud using technologies like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
+ Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Basic Qualifications
+ Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience; or
+ 15+ years of relevant experience without a degree
+ 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with pharmacy information systems or medication management technologies
+ Familiarity with Omnicell products and solutions
+ Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies
+ Experience migrating legacy systems to modern cloud-based solutions
+ Experience in healthcare IT, including familiarity with healthcare systems, workflows, and regulations
+ Knowledge of healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA
Work Conditions
+ Hybrid work environment in St. Petersburg, FL
+ Ability to travel up to 10%
