    Job Description

    Under the direction of a qualified Dialysis RN and in accordance with approved policies, procedures and standards, the Dialysis LPN performs tasks and responsibilities associated with direct care needs for patients over the age of 18. The Dialysis LPN is knowledgeable in the cause and effect of renal disease and in the procedure of hemodialysis. Assumes accountability and responsibility for carrying out prescribed therapeutic and preventive nursing measures outlined in the patient plan of care. Assesses pertinent clinical information and communicates observations to the RN for evaluation. Contributes to the plan of care, conducts health teaching, health counseling, and may perform advanced therapeutic measures such as IV therapy. na
