    **Location:** This position is onsite at One Energy Plaza (OEP) located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate.

     

    General Summary of Job Responsibilities

     

    The Senior Benefits Administrator is actively involved in assisting with general employment benefit support. The incumbent responds to tier 2 inquiries concerning company benefit plans and administers benefit programs including health, life, and disability). May also handle moderately complex escalations and work with third party vendors in related areas. Maintains confidentiality of all employee information.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Provide clerical and operational support to other members of the benefits team and assist with or prepare correspondence as warranted

    + Responsible for data entry of employee information which supports the Maintenance and reporting for all employee group insurance benefits and other employee benefit programs and services in a manner that ensures accurate, efficient, and effective administration

    + Resolve moderately Complex issues related to benefits and contribute to continuous improvement solutions

    + Responsible to provide tier 2 support and troubleshooting for benefit enrollment; address any questions concerning CMS health insurance plans, disability packages and Payroll contributions

    + Support the administration of benefit provisions including leaves of absences (LTD, STD, WC, FMLA), disability, survivors and continuation coverage through collection of related statements, determination of eligibility status, written notifications to participants, maintenance of employee master data and reporting to third party administrators/vendors

    + Act as first level consultant to Employees addressing sensitive but routine questions as it relates to all benefits plans, leave of absence, workplace injuries, and disabilities

    + Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

     

    + Organized, analytical and strong attention to detail

    + Strong customer service orientation

    + Knowledge of STD, LTD, FMLA and state regulated leaves

    + knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws

    + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + Associate degree in general studies, business or related with at least 4 years of experience in a human resources or benefits administration role; experience working within an HRIS system (SAP, ADP, etc.)

    OR

    + High school diploma or GED with at least 6 years in experience in a human resources or benefits administration role; experience working within an HRIS system (SAP, ADP, etc.)
