Night Program Incentives
+ Minimum of 6 months of UPMC CT Tech experience required.
+ Commitment to working a full-time equivalent, (3) 12-hour night shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and two Holidays per year.
+ Additional Pay:
+ $2.00/hour Night Program differential plus $2.55 off-shift differential for a total of $4.55 per hour for night shifts!
Position Purpose
Perform imaging procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform CT procedures using established protocols, including contrast administration.
+ Operate advanced imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data.
+ Ensure accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams; enter charges appropriately.
+ Administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and assess patient risk factors.
+ Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.
+ Apply independent judgment to adjust protocols for optimal diagnostic results.
+ Demonstrate strong teamwork and patient-centered care with dignity and respect.
+ Verify patient identity using two identifiers and follow universal protocol.
+ Document patient history and maintain accurate electronic records.
+ Perform venipuncture and operate power injectors per department standards.

Qualifications
+ Education:
+ Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
+ Certification Requirements:
+ ARRT registry eligible technologists must obtain ARRT certification within 6 months of hire.
+ CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of obtaining the primary registry or date of hire if already certified.
+ CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
+ Required Certifications:
+ ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or CNMT certification.
+ CT registry within required timeframe.
+ CPR or BLS certification (AHA standards including didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire.
+ Additional Requirements:
+ All CT Technologists working in NY facilities performing contrast media injection must be certified by ARRT or NMTCB and licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
