SUMMARY OF JOB
Assists in the filling and compounding of all patient medication orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Delivers medications and maintains adequate stock levels in all areas of the hospital. Duties and responsibilities comply with legal, regulatory, and hospital requirements.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
Title: Pharmacy Technician – Day/Evening shift rotation
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
+ Receive, distribute, manage, and store pharmaceutical products and supplies
+ Handling of medications in accordance with pharmacy department policies and procedures
+ Completes medication repackaging or compounding prior to patient administration (in accordance with departmental policies and procedures)
+ Working knowledge of aseptic technique and ability to prepare sterile IV products
+ Perform pharmaceutical calculations
+ Ability to learn and willingness to prepare chemotherapeutic agents
+ Charge and/or credit patients for medications used in patient care areas
+ Performs all quality control checks prior to final pharmacist verification including accurate manipulation, volumes, labeling, and storage requirements
+ Responsible for medication inventory management and serves as a backup for pharmacy buyer (as applicable for handling non-controlled substances)
+ Complete audits (daily logs), including documentation of audit completion and expired medications in designated documentation location
+ Ensures records are accurate, complete, within specification to ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, or other applicable rules and regulations
+ Delivers medications and maintains adequate stock levels in all areas of the hospital. Duties and responsibilities comply with legal, regulatory, and hospital requirements.
+ Adheres to all policies, procedures, laws and regulations that govern the handling, dispensing and storage of controlled substances. Completes and maintains all necessary documentation. Reports any irresolvable discrepancies to supervising pharmacist on-site immediately.
+ Assist with other pharmacy operations and duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and commitment to improving patient safety and quality of care.
+ Requirement includes working 1 weekend evening shift per month; work 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday; rotate through 6:30 AM – 3 PM shift alongside evening shifts during week days.
Credentials ( Preferred ):
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification
