Your Role at a Glance
Located in Partille, Sweden, the Senior Accountant is responsible for handling routine and complex transactions, supporting the monthly close within 3 business days, and complying with local statutory requirements. This position requires a self-starter with a passion for numbers, attention to detail, organizational skills, communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
Key responsibilities of the role include maintaining accurate financial records, developing and implementing financial policies, and identifying best practices in accounting operations. The Senior Accountant will also support audits, review payroll entries, and prepare tax-related items. Additionally, this role involves contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes and performing other duties as assigned.
The Senior Accountant is a proactive self-starter with strong analytical skills, a focus on process improvement, and a collective mindset, particularly in working closely with local management.
How You’ll Drive SuccessMonth-end Close and Financial Reporting
+ Prepare month-end close, including maintaining journal entries, statement reconciliations, and account variance analysis utilizing NetSuite.
+ Prepare monthly financial statements and provide financial analysis to management.
+ Oversight of both accounts payable and customer accounts receivable.
+ Provide banking support.
Compliance and Recordkeeping
+ Maintain accurate and complete financial records in accordance with Sandvik’s IFRS accounting standards.
+ Assist in the development, implementation, and adherence to relevant financial policies and controls.
+ Provide support for audits and tax requests.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
+ Prepare and file other tax-related items such as payroll, VAT, and other taxes.
Payroll Review
+ Review payroll and all related journal entries to ensure accuracy.
Other Duties
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field form an accredited university.
Experience
+ 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations, demonstrating a strong track record of accuracy, timeliness, and process improvement.
+ Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with practical experience applying these standards in financial reporting and compliance.
+ Intercompany accounting experience across multiple entities or regions highly preferred.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
+ Proven experience using, editing, and reporting in a financial software application, with a strong preference for NetSuite.
+ Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, is required to effectively communicate with local and international stakeholders.

+ Above average communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide accurate and timely information in a succinct and easy to understand manner.
