Description

Astor Services is hiring Preschool Infant Care Assistants today! Enjoy working Monday through Friday from 8-3pm with summers off. Head Start is a federally funded preschool program delivering services to 3 and 4-year old children and their families in core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being.

The Infant Care Assistant is responsible for the delivery of child development services as a primary caregiver to children in an EHS setting. The Infant Care Assistant will be acting in either a lead or assisting role. This position may require home visits, which may be in homes with animals or other allergens. Come join our team!

Job Responsibilities:

+ Assists with lesson plans and make sure they are complete, timely, and comprehensive.

+ Incorporates a variety of experiences in the classroom to individualize and foster the children’s emotional, cognitive, language, physical, and self-help skill development. This includes appropriate and varied materials and techniques.

+ Encourages and participates in best practices around family driven care and family engagement.

+ All required paperwork and reports (including but not limited to screening assessments, data collecting, daily logs) are timely, substantial, and current.

+ Demonstrates ability and willingness to work with all related service providers and other specialists to ensure FSP compliance and quality programming.

+ Creates a well-organized learning environment for children that conveys a welcoming, trusting, and safe classroom to maximize developing appropriate experiences.

+ Understands and incorporates the principles of program-selected curricula.

+ Identifies and sets objectives for development and learning.

+ Demonstrates effective classroom management, including responsibility for supervision of all children.
