In this role, you will teach undergraduate Art History courses, mentor students, contribute to curriculum development, and maintain an active program of scholarship while supporting departmental and university initiatives.
Visual arts represent one of the basic means of human communication. The Art Department provides undergraduates with a solid foundation in the methods and theories of creating and studying visual arts while preparing them for careers as creative professionals.

Duties include but are not limited to:
+ Teach undergraduate foundations courses in Art History, particularly Art History Survey I, Art History Survey II, and advanced courses in the periods of ancient, medieval, and renaissance art. 3:4 teaching load.
+ Engage with student academic advisement, the university and departmental services, and supporting general education needs.
+ Guide students to fulfill major requirements in Art/Digital Art programs, strengthen electives in Art History, and mentor students through their studies.
+ Foster growth in the Art History area.
+ Coordinate an annual Art History conference, plan trips to museums and galleries, and provide guidance for post-graduation success in the field.
+ Engage in continuous scholarship in Art History and Criticism (research, publications, and attending/presenting at conferences).

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
+ Ph.D. in Art History
+ Ability to teach topics in both ancient and contemporary art
+ Record of publications or other scholarly activity
Preferred:
+ Two or more years of previous teaching experience at the university level beyond TA
+ Demonstrable commitment to continued professional development, and ability to adjust and adapt to new developments in the field
+ Record of experiential student activities beyond the classroom
+ Experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or service with diverse and/or multicultural populations
+ Experience in developing new courses
+ Ability to include non-western artistic topics throughout the curriculum
+ Experience with NASAD accreditation requirements and processes
+ Strong record of, or ability to provide, service to department, campus, and community
+ Professional familiarity in gallery operations and Museum Studies
+ Familiarity with online and hybrid teaching methods
