    Job Title: Structural Design EngineerJob Description

    A Design Engineer role that involves collaborating with senior engineers to develop designs for signage and architectural branding elements. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a fundamental understanding and appreciation of building construction and metal fabrication.

    Responsibilities

    + Interface with Project Management to define customer requirements.

    + Develop fabrication methods based on renderings of the final product.

    + Work closely with CADD Designers to fully document designs.

    + Resolve fabrication issues on the shop floor.

    + Update designs based on shop or engineering feedback.

    + Apply consistent logic to standardize sign families.

    + Reference past jobs to adapt or reuse design details.

    + Support Project Management in resolving technical issues in Production and in the field.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with technical drawings and AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

    + Strong analytical skills and understanding of materials and manufacturing or construction.

    + Effective and practical design skills.

    + Understanding of UL48 and applicable Building Codes.

    + Experience in structural engineering and design.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferred knowledge of fabrication details, machine, and material limitations.

    + Ability to interpret architectural and structural building drawings.

    + Project risk recognition and mitigation skills.

    + Manufacturing experience.

    Work Environment

    The position involves working primarily in an office setting, with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor to review products. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and practical application.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
