Job Description
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will provide essential quality assistance to the Software Team working on a complex military combat vehicle software-based system. Your role will involve improving software processes, participating in software development and verification activities, and ensuring compliance throughout the software lifecycle. You will be instrumental in supporting both internal and government release processes, while utilizing tools like Jira for data mining and report generation.
Responsibilities
+ Provide quality assistance to the Software Team for a complex military combat vehicle software system.
+ Review and mature software process development throughout the lifecycle.
+ Participate in CDRL reviews, software development, and verification activities.
+ Support internal and government release processes.
+ Ensure compliance with software development processes.
+ Use Jira for data mining and generate quality reports.
+ Analyze quality data and produce comprehensive reports on quality metrics.
+ Identify areas for process and product improvement.
+ Conduct audits for compliance with GOV/MIL standards.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years’ experience as a software engineer or software quality assurance.
+ Proficiency in programming languages: C/C++, Java.
+ Experience with Linux real-time operating systems.
+ Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile processes using Jira.
+ Strong understanding of software lifecycle development tools (Jira, Confluence, GitLab).
+ Ability to manage Change Control Board and perform audits for compliance with GOV/MIL standards.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to speak German.
+ CMMI certification or ASPICE provisional auditor.
+ Experience in multi-national, multi-organizational environments.
+ Experience in highly regulated industries.
+ Adaptable, assertive, and responsive.
+ Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
+ Superior consultation, diplomacy, and influencing skills.
+ Ability to promote collaboration and teamwork across organizations.
+ High level of self-motivation and ability to prioritize under pressure.
Work Environment
You will be part of a collaborative team environment, supporting a complex military combat vehicle software-based system. The role involves standups, planning meetings, and reviews, as well as interactions with government DevSecOps release processes. There is occasional international travel for technology transfer, providing exposure to cutting-edge military technology and professional growth opportunities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $69.71/hr.
