Job Title: Civil Design EngineerJob Description

The Civil Design Engineer is responsible for producing accurate and efficient engineering designs for infrastructure and site development projects. This role involves technical planning, design refinement, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities

+ Develop and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates to support design execution.

+ Prepare comprehensive technical reports and project work plans to guide implementation and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

+ Participate in design reviews, contribute to design improvements, and offer innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil design with other engineering disciplines and project requirements.

Essential Skills

+ Civil engineering expertise.

+ Proficiency in Microstation.

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).

+ 5+ years of experience relevant to Roadway Design.

+ Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and OpenRoads.

+ Knowledge of traffic engineering and traffic studies.

+ Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ MDOT experience and certifications are preferred.

+ Experience in transportation engineering and site development.

Work Environment

The role is based out of two offices located in Detroit and Lansing, working within a small team alongside field crews. Employees have the opportunity to support work on a hybrid schedule. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, offering exposure to a wide range of complex and diverse engineering challenges. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Lansing, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $48.00/hr.
