    _Direct Hire CNC Vertical Lathe Machinist_

    **Shift:** ALL SHIFTS AVALIABLE

    **Location:** Cleveland, OH

    **Pay:** Up to $40/hr (Based on experience)

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Vertical Lathe Machinist to operate both manual and CNC vertical turning machines to produce precision large-diameter parts. The ideal candidate will set up and run machines to perform cutting, boring, facing, and threading operations according to technical specifications.

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining instructions specific to vertical turning operations.

    + Set up vertical turning machines by installing appropriate tools, fixtures, and workpieces.

    + Operate the machine to perform turning, boring, facing, and other machining processes on large, heavy parts.

    + Run existing CNC programs and create or modify programs at the machine to meet part requirements.

    + Adjust machine parameters, including speeds, feeds, and offsets, to optimize performance and achieve desired tolerances.

    + Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers to inspect parts.

    + Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the machine and tools to ensure optimal performance.

    + Follow all safety regulations and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

    + Report any machine malfunctions, defects, or quality issues to supervisors.

    + Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to meet production goals.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of five years' experience operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes and manual lathes.

    + Proficiency with large-part machining and blueprint reading.

    + Understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GD&T).

    + Self-sufficient in setups with minimal supervision.

    + Strong shop math knowledge, including trigonometry.

    + Ability to edit G and M-codes and troubleshoot jobs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + CNC programming experience, especially with Fanuc and Siemens controls, is a plus.

    + Experience with Okuma and Haas lathes.

    + Experience with large overhead cranes and moving large workpieces.

    + Understanding of metal properties and appropriate cutting tools.

    + Dependable, self-starter, and team player.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a very heavy-duty industrial environment with older equipment in a large manufacturing facility. The environment is not temperature controlled, requiring candidates familiar with such conditions. Shifts start at 6 AM for the first shift and 6 PM for the third shift, with an 8-10 hour duration based on workload. A $2.00 shift differential is offered for the third shift.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Cleveland, OH.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $79040.00/yr.

     

    Full benefits including medical, Rx, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, 401K with match, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance.

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Cleveland,OH.
