    Under the guidance of the Lacrosse Head Coach while using independent judgment and discretion, The Assistant Coach will instruct, educate, and train players on the rules, strategies, and techniques of the applicable sport and ensure that student-athletes understand, comply, and abide by the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the NEC Conference, and the University of New Haven.

    You will:

    + Player Development: Instruct, educate, and train student-athletes in Women-s Lacrosse, preparing them for competition. Emphasize safety rules and regulations while ensuring compliance with NCAA and conference guidelines.

    + Motivation and Support: Provide encouragement and motivation to student-athletes, maintaining a professional and effective approach when addressing any issues or challenges they may encounter.

    + Skill Enhancement: Instruct and demonstrate proper game techniques, strategies, and equipment usage, contributing to the athletes' skill development.

    + Player Assessment: Collaborate with the Head Coach to assess the strengths and weaknesses of student-athletes and design tailored programs to enhance their skills and overall performance.

    + Practice Management: Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions, utilizing sound motor learning principles and sport-specific techniques to prepare student-athletes for optimal competition.

    + Education: Stay current with rule changes, technique advancements, technology improvements, and equipment innovations within Lacrosse.

    + Recruitment: Identify, monitor, and recruit high-quality student-athletes who align with the University's athletic program objectives.

    + Scouting: Utilize various technology resources to aid in scouting opposing teams and creating precise and informative scouting reports.

    + Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate records of player progress, utilizing technology and statistics to guide player development.

    + Strength and Conditioning: Assist the Strength and Conditioning staff in creating a sport specific team strength and conditioning program, ensuring it enhances players' strength and fitness effectively.

    + Travel Coordination: Organize and confirm team travel requirements, including transportation, accommodations, and meals.

    + Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties and projects as assigned by the Head Coach or athletic department.

    You need:

    + Successful coaching experience at the Division I, II or III level.

    + Previous playing experience in Women-s Lacrosse is highly desirable.

    + Bachelor-s degree required; Master-s degree preferred.

    + One or more years of experience in NCAA compliance, athletics administration, or event management (student experience considered).

    + Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.

    + Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve in fast-paced environments

    + Extensive knowledge of Women-s Lacrosse and a demonstrated ability to educate and coach student-athletes effectively.

    + Strong independent coaching skills and the capacity to teach and demonstrate sport-specific skills and strategies.

    + Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication, and motivational skills.

    + Knowledge of NCAA regulations and the unique challenges faced by student-athletes.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Sensitivity to diverse cultures and backgrounds.

    + A valid US driver-s license and a safe driving record

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Ability to stand for long periods of time

    + Ability to work in outdoor weather environments

    + Ability to lift and/or move equipment required for the sport
