We are seeking a Technical Manager with a senior-level engineering background and proven leadership experience. This role combines technical expertise, operational oversight, and team leadership to ensure system reliability, process improvement, and successful project delivery. You will oversee a broad and diverse portfolio of initiatives.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Technical Ability

* Provide expert guidance on engineering design, development, and implementation.

* Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and quality processes.

* Participate in annual DR testing and maintain recovery plans/scripts.

* Monitor system health, respond to production issues, and prioritize incidents.

* Ensure all technical documentation aligns with ITSM standards and audit requirements.

Leadership & Team Management

* Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

* Manage subordinates, including career advancement and annual activities.

* Build and maintain strong business team relationships.

Project & Delivery Management

* Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to resolve issues and align priorities.

* Coordinate resource sharing and joint initiatives with other leaders to optimize team performance.

* Oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget.

Stakeholder Communication

* Establish trust and clear communication with business stakeholders to understand priorities and deliver solutions.

* Ensure team objectives support organizational goals and communicate progress to stakeholders regularly.

Process & Quality Improvement

* Manage approvals, documentation, and communication for technical impacts.

* Recommend process improvements, ensure adherence to best practices, and implement alterations that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Budget & Resource Planning

* Prepare ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) estimates with key assumptions, risks, and confidence levels.

* Communicate ROM ranges clearly to stakeholders for informed decision-making.

* Support prioritization of demands based on ROM size and strategic impact.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s in Computer Science, Electrical, or related engineering.

* 8+ years of engineering experience (preferred Microsoft stack) with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

* Proven track record in leading technical teams and managing large-scale projects.

* ITSM tools (ServiceNow), disaster recovery planning, incident management.

* Strong technical acumen with hands-on experience in engineering systems.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
