Northrop Grumman is seeking a Network Engineer to provide on-site network support at Rocket Center, WV plus several remote sites to support the network infrastructure. A successful candidate will work with a team in supporting the LAN/WAN. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with experience in networking.

Role and Responsibilities include:

+ Provide technical support to clients, respond to their request promptly and resolve network issues.

+ Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc., for the Networking discipline, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, interconnection.

+ Plans, designs, configures, and installs network hardware in support of customer requirements.

+ Creates and ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.

+ Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

+ Occasionally travel to other NG sites as needed.

+ Periodically provide after-hours and weekend support.

+ Interface regularly with customers and manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.

*This role can be supported by a level 2 (early career) or level 3 (mid-career) Network Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for level 2:

+ Must have a minimum of 2 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree OR 0 Years of experience with a relevant Masters Degree

+ Must have the ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance

+ Must have hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and setting up switched networks

+ Proficient knowledge with Cisco routers and switches.

+ Solid understanding of TCP/IP related protocols, Dynamic Routing Protocols, Switching technologies and features

+ Ability to successfully solve network related problems reported by users

+ Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities

+ Skilled with Microsoft Office 365 applications and Visio.

+ Ability to work onsite 100% of the time at the Rocket Center, WV location

+ Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.

+ Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, etc.) is nice to have.

+ Cisco CCNA or CCNP certifications are preferred.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
