Summary:
Participates with development of project plans. Executes project plans, test and implement software enhancements for POS Fare Collection Systems. Oversee operations of Secaucus and EWR. Prepares supporting documentation for all POS & Fare Collection vendor contracts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and 24/7 support Point of Sale & Fare collection systems.
+ Prepares detailed ridership and sales data spreadsheets and develops periodic presentations for senior POS staff.
+ Develops system requirements and system enhancements design with users.
+ Manages day to day faregate operations and development, testing and implementation of technological advancements and software upgrades. Assist troubleshooting production issues.
+ Provide technical guidance and acts as liaison to user departments for the coordination of equipment installations, implementation, and end user training.
+ Must be proactive and investigate, analyze, and make recommendations regarding technology improvements, upgrades, and modifications.
+ Evaluates and prepares specifications, and cost estimates, schedules and other contract document preparation and change orders.
+ Interacts with management to determine Operating/Capital Projects system’s needs, communicates and coordinates with other IT Managers, especially within the Operating/Capital projects systems group to determine priorities of tasks and projects.
+ Maintains and updates vendor expenditures spreadsheets and progress of work to management.
+ Tracks expiration dates of current contracts and updates specification to re-procure in a timely manner.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
+ Associates Degree in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent, and three (3) or more years of technical business experience.
+ Detailed knowledge of all NJ TRANSIT fare collection policies and procedures, hardware and software functionality required as well as knowledge/experience in budgeting procedures.
+ One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
Knowledge and Skills:
+ Knowledge in fare collection technology.
+ Understanding of NJ TRANSIT Fare Policy and Ticketing.
+ Knowledge/experience in all NJ Transit budgeting and procurement policies.
+ Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
+ Ability to make important decisions under pressure.
+ Problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office application required
+ Proficiency in Oracle Financials EBS
