Product Manager - Passenger Communications

Summary:

Manage implementation and maintenance of trip planning applications supporting the New Jersey Transit website, mobile App, IVR, Alexa voice assistant and Customer Service. Manage Departure Vision changing product requirements, work with users and developers Manage Multi station product improvements, work with business leaders, vendors and Customer Communications on improving applications and simplifying user experience Manage Employee TV applications, including Rail, Bus, Police and Internal Customer Communications Work to develop solutions to improve management of strategic development and tactical implementation of new technologies and products relating to Passenger Communications Technologies applications and products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Must be proactive and investigate, analyze, and make recommendations regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications to PassComm Products

+ Define development direction and strategy for Departure Vision and other internal and external PassComm applications.

+ Translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria for Departure Vision and other applications.

+ Manage and maintain the employee TV software, hardware, and user support.

+ Collaborate with developers and vendors to implement new applications, features, and updates to ensure the implementations are accomplished to spec and drive user satisfaction.

+ Provide technical guidance and set product improvement milestones for vendors and technology service providers.

+ Manage execution and provision of NJT trip planning and GIS data to Google Maps, Apple Maps, Bing Maps, and other 3rd party developers.

+ Supervise various data streams for rail, bus, and light rail scheduling systems and GIS to ensure accurate data loading/processing.

+ Collaborate with other IT sectors to implement trip planning application and server upgrades and other maintenance to support all trip planning applications.

+ Provide 24 x 7 x 365 customer support internal and external NJT trip planning applications

+ Sr Interactive Services Coordinators

+ Product Support Coordinators

+ Principal Business Analyst

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field. 5+ years of related experience.

+ MBA is desirable.

+ Experience in developing product optimizations and new product ideas.

+ 5 years of supervisory experience

Knowledge and Skills:

+ Data Analysis skills

+ Software development management skills

+ Agile methodology experience

+ Microsoft Office proficiency

+ Negotiation skills

+ Excellent Oral and Communications skills.

+ Experience working with RESTful API’s.

+ Experience in managing applications for phone, tablet and web platforms.

+ Database experience (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

+ Back-end programming familiarity C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web API.

+ Experience architecting solutions using modern frameworks such as Angular.js and/or React.js.
