Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking an Associate Engineer to assist with the review of the electrical design drawings and calculations for various renewable energy projects, assist with the development of new opportunities, and provide oversight of the construction and implementation of multiple renewable energy projects Additionally, develop specifications in execution of the Clean Energy Ventures project plan.
Major Responsibilities
• Review and provide feedback on electrical design and vendor equipment drawings, including array layouts, site electrical distribution plan, one-lines, and grounding drawings.
• Review and provide comments for the electrical calculations including short circuit, cable and conduit sizing, grounding, voltage drop, incident energy, and relay coordination.
• Conduct field inspections, which require the interpretation and implementation of contract specifications and drawings; report any deficiencies.
• Attend factory witness testing for electrical equipment.
• Support commissioning and testing program for new commercial solar projects.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, electrical, or civil preferred).
• 0-2 years of experience with an engineering design firm or construction management firm with an emphasis on renewable energy projects and electrical power system design.
• Solar array design experience is preferred.
• Experience in commercial solar projects is plus.
• Experience with the National Electrical Code and electrical standards.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment, including medium voltage switchgear, generators, inverters and transformers preferred.
• AutoCAD and PVSyst software experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and strong communication skills.
• Ability to scale NJRCEV assets is necessary and access rooftops.
• Travel required - 25% - 35%

Job Location Type is hybrid.
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $59,000- $75,200 .
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
