of Businessat Texas State University is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position beginning Fall 2026.
We are interested in applicants who have practical experience in the fields of statistics or data science and who possess the ability to teach undergraduate students. Candidates may also be asked to collaborate with faculty and engage with students, Practical experience includes experience in industry/non-profit, research centers, or government organizations. The selected applicant should be able to develop and teach undergraduate courses in analytics, with a focus on statistics. Additional job duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels. Faculty will be required to teach courses at the San Marcos campus.
The ISA Department offers a university-wide undergraduate minor in Data Analytics and offers several degree programs, including the Master of Science in Data Analytics and Information Systems ( MSDAIS ), the Bachelor of Business Administration ( BBA ) in Information Systems, and a newly launched BBA in Business Analytics. MSDAIS has concentrations in supply chain analytics and Applied AI. Additionally, the department contributes to the Master of Business Administration ( MBA ) and Doctor of Business Administration ( DBA ) programs.

+ Business Administration with a concentration in QM, Stats, MS, OR, OM, Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Applied Data Science, and Decision Sciences.
+ A business field with a concentration in Stats, OR, OM, Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Applied Data Science, or Decision Sciences.
+ Industrial Engineering with a concentration in OR, OM, Logistics, Operations Research, Operations Management, or Decision Science.
+ Candidates must be able to meet the AACSB Instructional Practitioner qualifications required by the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University.
+ Candidates must possess practical and professional experience in the areas of data analytics, statistics, operations management or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Evidence of effective teaching analytics and data science in courses at the undergraduate level in college.
+ Experience in teaching statistics or working in an industry with data analytics
+ Industry/business consulting experience in data analytics
+ Earned or anticipated Ph.D. degree from an AACSB accredited business school with a focus related to business analytics.
+ Evidence of effective teaching online, hybrid, or face-to-face courses.
