Scarlet Oaks Retirement and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Activity Assistant for our facility to perform activity functions as assigned. This is a full-time position and must be able to work a flexible schedule; position requires some weekends and evenings.

Activities Assistant will be responsible for running activities, creating flyers and other materials, shopping for supplies, assisting with calendar preparation, and many other duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF Activity Assistant:

Lead scheduled activities programs that inspire spiritual, cognitive, social, physical and creative expressions

Assist with the organizing, planning and implementation of programs and opportunities that promote resident well-being

Enthusiastically promote and communicate programs and events to residents and

Passionately motivate and serve residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities

Interact with families and visitors of our residents

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS OF Activity Assistant:

High school graduate or equivalent

Prior experience as activity assistant

Prior experience in Long-Term Care/Healthcare is preferred

SKILLS AND QUALITIES OF Activity Assistant: All qualified applicants should possess the following qualities:

Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to respect all members of the healthcare team

Solid work history with excellent attendance and punctuality and

Patience, understanding and compassion for those requiring our care.

Driving experince is a plus, but not required.
