    Job Description

    The Infrastructure Specialist (IS) serves as a member of the Service Delivery team (SDRT) supporting multiple agencies with predominant responsibility as the interface to all OCTO areas. The IS advises and assists management with issues essential to the maintenance of relationship/expectations and provides overall accountability for the delivery of all OCTO services for the customers represented by the Business Relationship Manager (BRM). The IS must be able to grasp the business and technical requirements of the Client agencies’ applications and infrastructure needs and possess a high level of technical expertise that is required to analyze and recommend a variety of solutions to agencies’ infrastructure problems and concerns. The IS is responsible for the coordination and optimizing of service delivery of OCTO Services and the resolution of issues to facilitiate a timely resolution. This position receives tactical direction from the OCTO and is responsible for troubleshooting, prioritizing, and escalating IT issues related to OCTO servcies. The IS presents agency project objectives and priorities to the OCTO Service Owners and monitors the progress of ongoing agency IT projects, providing updates to the CRM team, BRM and General Manager (GM). The IS assists the agency with OCTO IT Strategy needed in budget development, program planning, establishing policy and procedures, and represents OCTO services at agency meetings.

    Position Location/Remote Office: The office is located in Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Center for Educational Performance and Information currently offers a hybrid work option which requires one day working on-site at the official work location and the potential of up to four days remote work per week. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.

    SIGNING BONUS:

    This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
