    Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR/EVALUATOR, Position Description Number D2460P01 and is part of the CO Army Aviation Support Facility, National Guard. The position is responsible for providing instruction, evaluation and examination of rated pilots, instructor pilots, and aeroscout observers in flying techniques and methods of instruction, examination, and evaluation. Responsibilities Incumbent serves as a Unit Trainer/Evaluator (UT/E), instructor pilot, or pilot in command on one or more of the following helicopters: Attack Helicopter (AH-64); Cargo Helicopter (CH-47); Utility Helicopter (UH-60 series), (LUH-72 series) and others when assigned Also performs one or more duties in a specific functional area of aircraft operations. Performs preflight weather analysis, route and altitude selections, alternate airport selection, fuel, cargo and passenger load computations, selection of refueling stops, preflight inspections, flight plan filing, and firing ranges route planning/coordination. Serves as rotary wing Unit Trainer/Evaluator (UT/E) or Instructor Pilot (IP): Trains and evaluates aviators on basic and advanced flight techniques. Performs one or more of the following major functional duties: Serves as rotary wing Instrument Flight Examiner (IE): Conducts instrument flight qualifications and training which includes, instrument flight planning, precision handling and maneuvering of the aircraft, navigation using the aircraft navigation instruments and systems, air traffic control operations, approach, departure, and holding procedures, and use of the ILS. Serves as rotary wing Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP): Trains and evaluates IP's and provides technical supervision of the standardization program. Serves are Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner (ME)/Functional Check Pilot (FCP) Evaluator: Serves as rotary wing Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner/Function Check Pilot Evaluator. Serves as Aviation Safety Officer (ASO): Serves as an Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) carrying out a variety of duties to provide a productive aviation safety program for the Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) or any Army Aviation Facility. Serves as rotary wing Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) and/or Functional Check Pilot (FCP). Serves as Aviation Mission Survivability Officer: Serves as an Aviation Mission Survivability Officer (AMSO) Tactical Operations (TACOPS) Officer. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: W-2 or W-3 Compatible Military Assignment: 154F MOS 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicants RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 24 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in operating a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparation. 2. Experience in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information. 3. Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. 4. Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. 5. Experience in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, search and rescue operations or surveillance and reconnaissance. 6. Experience in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. 7. Experience in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders. 8. Experience in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, regulations, and directives. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full-time positions or termination of their employment. 9.
