Job Description

An employer is looking for a seasoned Senior IT Project Manager to lead a high-visibility infrastructure migration initiative. This critical pilot project involves migrating on-premise infrastructure—including VMWare-hosted servers—to Microsoft Azure Cloud across multiple locations. The initial phase includes 21 servers (mix of application, SQL, and print servers), with broader enterprise implications. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep experience in infrastructure migrations, particularly VMWare-to-Azure transitions, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across network, security, server, DBA, and application teams. In addition, upon project completion, the client has additional enterprise projects you will support related to application development, modernization efforts, and additional migrations.

Skills and Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in technical project management in a large, fast-paced enterprise environment

• Proven success leading infrastructure migration projects, especially On-Prem to Azure Cloud transitions

• Hands-on experience managing VMWare to Azure migration efforts

• Strong background in coordinating cross-functional teams and developing migration plans with network engineering, security, server, DBA, and application teams

• Demonstrated ability to assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive resolution with urgency

• Proficient in project tracking tools, ideally ADO

• Well versed in Agile/ Scrum, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies

• Strong technical documentation skills; able to review and create migration artifacts and capture business requirements

• Experience leading application development projects in Agile environments

• Strong hands on financials experience as it relates to the full project lifecycle- budgets, tracking, reporting, forecasting, etc. (Expert Excel skills) • Prior experience in the Trucking, Transportation, or Supply Chain industry
